Rental Camping Trailers now available for reserving at Coleto Creek.
Coleto Creek Park Nature Tours and Programs
For schools, tour groups, and other interested groups the park offers a variety of "Outdoor Education Classes" and "Field Days" developed to meet each group's specific needs.
Current Programs are:
  • Wildlife and Bird Viewing – guided nature trail hike in search of Coleto’s diverse wildlife and bird species, along with discussion of local habitat.
  • Aquatic Ecosystems – hands on study of Coleto’s fishery and aquatic plants, including discussion of invasive exotic species.
  • Nature Walk – guided tour discussing Texas Coastal prairie, and types of plants and animals that make up this ecosystem.
  • Nature Safety – guided tour discussing how to safely explore the outdoors, and plants and animals to be aware of.
  • Water Safety – hands on program covering boating and swimming safety issues.
  • Coleto Operations – Tour of Coleto Creek Dam and Power Plant, with discussion of operations and impact on area.
  • Other programs can be developed to meet your needs – the Coleto Creek Park staff has over 100 years of combined parks experience and knowledge to share.
Program Fees:
  • Visit park & have lunch = $1.00/person
  • 1/2 day park program & park use = $3.00/person
  • All day program & park use = $5.00/person
  • Bus drivers, tour guide, teachers, and group chaperones will not be charged a fee.
If needed, we can arrange a caterer for your group. Also, if wanting to do an overnight outing we have cabins, tent sites, and enclosed pavilions that can be reserved for use.
