Water Quality Education Modules

The modules listed below were developed as part of the Taking Charge of Water Quality project funded through Secion 106 of the Clean Water Act. This project was a major success of the Outreach and Education Work Group in support of the development of the Plum Creek Watershed Protection Plan.

Wastewater Treatment Facility Training

An informational wastewater treatment module that shows the procedures of wastewater treatment and explains why it is important to properly manage wastewater at all steps in the process, from your home all the way to the stream where the treatment facility discharges.

Septic System Training
Spanish version of Septic System Training

An online training program to illustrate proper septic system function and maintenance to ensure efficiency and to extend the life of the system.

Fats, Oils, and Grease Training

An online training program to address management practices for handling fats, oils, grease, and household chemical use and disposal. The training is geared toward both businesses and homeowners.

Flush It or Toss It!

A fun and engaging way for people of all ages to learn about what to flush and what NOT to flush down the toilet. Factoids are provided on the dangers of flushing inappropriate things down the toilet. These actions, compared with FOG issues, can contribute to the plugging of sewer lines, creating fatbergs.
