SEGUIN, Texas – The Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority (GBRA) Board of Directors welcomed Jennifer Storm and recognized the reappointment of Steve Ehrig during its May Board meeting. Both directors were officially administered the oath of office by GBRA Board Chairman Dennis L. Patillo following appointments made by Governor Greg Abbott and confirmation by the Texas Senate.
Storm, of Buda, will represent Hays County, and Ehrig, of Gonzales, will continue to represent Gonzales County both with terms expiring in 2031.
“On behalf of the entire board, I am pleased to welcome Director Storm and the perspective she brings from her work in economic development and regional partnerships,” said Chairman Patillo. “We’re also fortunate to retain Director Ehrig’s steady hand and depth of experience.”
Patillo concluded, “I would also like to thank former Hays County Director Don Meador for his service, dedication, and many thoughtful contributions over the years.”
Jennifer Storm serves as CEO of the Buda Economic Development Corporation and is a board member of the Hays Caldwell Economic Development Partnership and the Greater Buda Chamber of Commerce. Storm is also a member of the Texas Economic Development Council and the International Economic Development Council. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi.
Steve Ehrig, who was first appointed to the board in 2018, is a founding member of Ehrig Brothers Ag, E-BARR Feeds, and E Brothers Ranches. Ehrig also serves as a director of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, serves on the Area Go Texan Committee, and is a longtime active supporter of the Gonzales Livestock Show Association. He is also a member of the Gonzales County Young Farmers of Texas, Texas Agricultural Lifetime Leadership Program, Gonzales County Agents’ Advisory Board, Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, Texas & Southwest Cattle Raisers Association, and the Texas Farm Bureau.
GBRA is governed by a nine-member Board of Directors, each appointed by the Governor and subject to confirmation by the Texas Senate. Each Director serves a six-year term, with three directors appointed or reappointed every two years. Appointed directors are volunteers who meet monthly to provide policy development and leadership for the river authority. The GBRA General Manager/CEO and staff conduct management and administrative duties in accordance with policies established by the board.
